Round Robin - finished!

Hey all - I'm really excited to say that my round robin is complete and being mailed off to the framers today. I had to really force myself to finish it -- I had no creative oomph left after 2 years of these squares -- but I'm so glad I did. I'm not crazy about the border, it's a little 80s for me but oh well it was fast and I don't think the piece needed anything more elaborate. I am thinking of having a nice bird's eye maple frame on it but I'll email you guys the framer suggestions when she sends them to me.

Hi All
Katrina and I did an extra block swap... I had a hard time coming up with something new, I thought the piece needed a yellow house but I was dithering over which one and then I spotted this french freebie.

Anyway I hope it's not too bright and that you like it, Katrina! I echoed the hill and the fence from the house on the far side of the row to help with the symmetry.

Thankfully Susan found Georgie's piece. It is now in an envelope and ready to make it's way registered mail back to Australia :-). Lynn is going to stitch on it and then she will send it home to Georgie. I stitched another block for Georgie and she's going to stitch one more for me. I've posted a picture of the whole piece and the newest block I stitched.

Ta-daaaaa!!! Here's Jane's RR - I was tempted to stitch witches all over this piece because I like Francoise Marchardier's "Un vol de sorcieres" but refrain from it. The house is from Bright Needles Design (Halloween Wishes) and the tree is taken from PS Pumpkin Patch (Bk 140). This will be on the way today 22nd May to Jane.

Wow it is so beautiful! I had seen photos here but the real piece does not do justice to it at all. Many, many thanks for all your beautiful stitching!!! This will be a treasure.

I stitched the Friendship sampler from Hillside Samplings... I ended up with a funny space under the gold house so I decided to stitch a row of roses. I hope you like it, it looks odd now but maybe when you stitch the rest of it it will blend better!

Can't believe it's the end of this project for now! But I also can't wait to see mine.

Hello dear ladies..... this is a house from the Prairie Schooler leaflet Farm Fresh. As you might imagine, I went a little nutso with the chicks and chickens and roosters :) but it was fun!
I also stitched this house on someone else's but I changed it up this time around with a different grapevine border (also PS). I absolutely adore this piece! This might be my new RR fave.

This one came together rather quickly for me. All Drawn Thread designs, except for the geese which I copied from the area next to mine. :) I love it when a flock of Canada geese fly over the house!

The house is from The Wildflower Garden and the animals are all from The Sanctuary.

I'm off to run some errands and that includes a stop at the PO to get this package in the mail.

Jane, the pictures not great, sorry the sun was shining in the window. There are lots of bright spots but you can still get an idea, your piece is great! I was in a hurry to get it in the mail :-). Hope you like what I've done, I modified the Marriage of the Mind pattern you included, there was no way to fit it all in but I managed to make it work.

One question though....Katrina asked me to baste as she had no time left and wanted to give the piece to me when I was there. I basted a line under my block from left to right as well as to the right of my block. Do you want me continue and if so how do you like it best to be done?? I am in the hotel this weekend (DH has his duty weekend) so you can respond here or on my yahoo address.

I have finished stitching on Katrina's RR. I just have a printer challenge to get the letter printed but will sort that tonight when DH is home. It will be going in the mail tomorrow Georgie! I had so much fun stitching on this RR. It is so beautiful! I decided to stitch the block right from the church and prolonged the gate into my block to make it look like one part. I hope I achieved this :-) Most of the design is from DT's Marriage of Minds. I hope you like it Katrina?!!

Here's Pat's RR - its fun to stitch - I've stitched a crocodile since Australia is well known for "Crocodile Dundee", Crocodile Hunter - Steve Irwin. Kathy had given me a CHS croc to stitch - I frog it - it has to be stitched 1 over 1 - therefore, I managed to find another croc - see, we have many crocs in Australia - LOL, this one is from Elizabeth Bradley's book. The whole design is from Elizabeth's Design. BTW I've removed my surname from the pic only - it is actually stitched on this piece.

I stitched the top and bottom from Shepherd's Bush Happy Haunting on Georgie's RR.

The tombstone is taken from a SanMan Originals chart. I like the age cracks!

I'll be right by the post office on Saturday morning so I'll mail it then. The fabric is perfect for this piece.

I finished my part on Kathy's RR and I mailed it registered to Georgie this morning. For my block I used Miss Lila's House from Barrick Samplers and Sheldon Hawkes House from The Goode Huswife. I hope you like it Kathy!? I think it is coming along beautifully and the colors of my photos don't do justice to the piece. The linen and threads used are in much warmer colors.

Voila!!! It's done. I've stitched next to Georgie's since she lives closest to me in the neighbourhood. I've stitched the bird attached to Georgie's house (its taken from PS More Friend's Chart). I like sheeps and sheperdess, therefore I've chosen a design from Homespun Elegance. Hope you like it Jane.

So this is in the mail to Susan -- I had a lot of fun with this one. I think the border is looking really charming. I tried hard to match my neighbor - I think you can see the dividing line between our sections but only if you really look. I think the light is reflecting differently off our stitches and that's why they look slightly different (especially in the lake section).
This is a mix of Marriage of the Minds by Drawn Thread, plus a Prairie Schooler loon, tree, and ducks.

I know I only received it last week but I wanted it to be done before we move into our new house next week. This is the last week of relaxing at the hotel and what way to do it than with stitching. I hope you like it Pat?! I only had a few charts with me so I had to figure out what to do with the block. All my stitching stuff is in the container. The quality of the photos' isn't perfect but it gives you an idea how the island look so far. I will mail it to Georgie this week and in time for the April 1st deadline! :-)

Well here it is, all ready to go. I used a Goode Huswife design that Kathy included in her packet. I had to modify it slightly, adding a tree arching over the top to help it look higher. I hope it looks alright. It is stitched mostly with WDW - I added a girl in blue to help add some more color to the piece. Hope you like it Kathy! I stitched it with one strand like the person who stitched next to me did, but now I see some others on here have stitched with two strands. I didn't realize this till I was almost done so I hope it is not a problem.

Well I was really starting to think I wouldn't finish this but here I am, a few weeks ahead of the deadline and everything.
Pat's theme is an island, and of course every island should have a lighthouse. I've stitched the Pemaquid Point Light House from Maine Miniatures by Lorraine -- I grew up going to this area of Maine and this light house holds a special place in my heart. I was going to put a fish in the ocean and then I realized I needed to put in a lobster of course. He's from a Permin of Copenhagen sampler, and the geese are Prairie Schooler.
I worked hard on this one. It's a beautiful piece, Pat -- thanks for having me on a visit to your island!

(I can tell you now) I was so worried that it would get here ok! The main post office that all of our mail gets routed through was FLOODED!! I was hearing horror stories about mail floating in water, etc. This is the first time in 3 days that we actually received any mail! (unheard of for our mail box!lol!)

Georgie's RR is on the way to NZ. I have stitched a rose vine by the side of the house and a little dog. I reckon it looks a bit bare at the top but could make up what to stitch on it, so I left it blank in case Georgie has something in mind.

Enjoyed stitching this piece, cos the fabric is so soft.

So sorry I forgot to post a picture of my Round Robin. Well here it is:

I really loved stitching it - but then again I love stitching everything so long as I give myself permission to do it. Long story - don't worry about it.

Anyway I can't remember what I wrote in the book (as I typed it out I thought I might have kept it but silly me I didn't) but I have included some WDW threads - you don't have to use them but can if you want. The fabric is 36ct and I really only want it stitched one over two please - can't remember if I said that or not. CRAFT has come here to stay and any of you that don't know what it is ... Can't Remember A F Thing! It just goes from bad to worse I swear!

I'm stitching on Karin's now and shall post a photo of it when it's done and on it's way to Georgie. Love you all. Patti xxx

I finsihed stitching on Susan her RR over a week ago but Blogger did not allow me to post anything! I tried for days and then I got visitors staying with me so no internet time!

Anyway I will give it another try LOL Susan I hope you like what I stitched. I think it suits your house really well.

Hi Everyone! I put the last stitches in Lisa's round robin last night and it's ready to go. I stitched Moonlit Garden, which is one of the charts Lisa had kindly sent along with her round robin, and added some grass and a row of Prairie Schooler birds. I used the WDW called for in the chart and the grass is from GAST.
I really enjoyed stitching on your piece, Lisa! Hope you don't mind the blank space between our houses but I really couldn't decide what to put there. Maybe a gate? or that PS birdhouse? anyway I could never decide what would look right and so I will leave it empty. If you ever want to add more of the grass on my side it's Dried Thyme from GAST. or you could send it back and I can do it.
Sorry if the picture is blurry! My camera really strains and groans when it has to take pictures of close-up work, and I took them early this morning before the sun was all the way up, so it looks a bit darker than it really is.
