We are a group of international stitchers who are creating a wonderful neighbourhood for all of us to stitch, share and enjoy! Come and wander through our neck of the woods with us
Hi everyone, I am curious as to what threads everyone is going to use and if they are going to send them along with their piece. Also, is everyone going to send charts or just requests of what they want? Inquiring minds would love to know!!! LOL
I will send threads, I've already pulled them :-) and in my instruction letter I will probably give some suggestions of who I prefer designer wise but I won't send any charts along. In my experience if you send along your threads and everyone is working from the same group of colors it helps unify the piece. It's just how I normally do a round robin. I think everyone should do whatever they think will work best for their piece.
Great idea, Katrina. I definitely agree with the same threads on one piece....I am also going to send a journal around, but made sure it wasn't too heavy for postage reasons....I think I will go for antique sampler houses....
I will probably be sending a couple of "working copies" of some motifs, in case anyone doesn't have enough charts to use.
As far as including floss - I haven't decided. In other RR's, I've left it entirely up to the other stitchers as to what they wanted to use (when I've started with DMC), but if I want something stitched with silk (as I did with one of my Quaker RR's), I will include the silks.
I usually send a journal along, but I make my own journal - I get enough pieces of letter-size paper, either pre-decorated, or plain, and I get it bound at work with the spiral binding, and a clear cover. It's not at all heavy when you do it this way, and it's a nice souvenir to keep.
I'm not going to send any threads, but am going to be sending several working copies of charts. I agree with Katrina, I know I have a vision of how I want my RR to look, and think everyone should do what they think will work best.
I intend to send a CD where it contains some pictures of designs and charts, and journal. I won't send thread as I like the piece to be a surprise when I get it.

I am just about decided on a Neighbourhood of Whimsy/Make Believe!
I will send along a few charts for ideas... as for threads- I will include a few skeins of Crescent Colours for those who wish to use them :)
I will be sending along a journal as well.

I'll be sending a journal also. I have a few left that I picked up at a scrapbooking store.
